Yes, we're having another baby, missing work and breaking kneecaps

Kudos to all those who picked up on the subtle announcement in my last post that Marathon Girl and I are expecting kid number two in about six months.

My face is peeling. Thanks to spending copious amounts of time in the sun doing yard work on Friday and Saturday the sun dried out my skin. I didn’t think I’d have this problem considering I managed to avoid being sunburned. But apparently there was enough exposure to dry it out and cause it to peel.

To put an end to my leper-like looks, I’ve come to the point where I may have to put lotion on my face.

I hate putting lotion on my face mostly because it makes my face break out in pimples.

Pimples may look normal on teenagers but looks silly on some guy in his 30s.

I’ve tried Marathon Girl’s lotion in the past but with pimply results.

So if anyone can recommend some lotion that’s good for sensitive skin, please let me know.

Aidan was sick most of the weekend. So was Marathon Girl. Between cleaning up baby puke and making sure Marathon Girl was OK, I was surprised that I didn’t find myself in the clutches of the flu on Monday. Instead I woke up like normal, lifted some weights, and went back to work.

One of these days I’ll actually have a legitimate excuse to miss work.

So I talked with my friend in Arizona who adapted a baby boy over the weekend. Apparently most everything went well. The baby was born healthy and an the mom signed the paperwork as planned and took some more paperwork back to Utah for the father to sign. The only snag so far is that there seems to be a miscommunication with the father. He wants to sign the paper and give the baby up but apparently the mom had gone back to her drug induced ways and has either lost the paperwork or won’t give the paper work to the father to sign. Right now my friend is trying to work it out with the attorney and find some way to have the father sign the paperwork. If that doesn’t work, then my friend is planning on flying up to Utah to have him sign it.

The mom and dad both happen to live in my hometown – Ogden. So I told him if he needed to come up, I’d be happy to take a day off work and drive him around. I even volunteered to bring a baseball bat in case kneecaps needed to be broken. (For those who aren’t familiar with Ogden, carrying baseball bats and break kneecaps is standard operating procedure.) I’m hoping it won’t reach the point where my friend has to fly out.

But if he does…

I’ll actually have a legitimate excuse to miss work.
