Tigers win, Summerland, and building a website
2005-04-05 4:42 p.m.
The weather has warmed up just in time for Opening Day. It was quite a treat to read about the Tigers 11-2 romp over the Royals. Granted, the Royals are probably the worst teams in the American League but I’ll take a grand opening day win – especially one where Dimitri Young becomes the third player in history to hit three home runs on opening day. Young’s three run home run day did little for my fantasy baseball team, Summerland. (Team named after the book by Michael Chabon.) The season is young but already I find myself several points behind the Petco Diamond Dawgs. No fear. I’m sure my team will bounce back. Results to be posted soon! *** During the last week, I’ve been building a webpage for a coworker. It’s been quite a learning process but it’s turned out rather well. Makes me wish I had time to work on webpages full time. There’s something I enjoy about building them. I’m currently trying to sell the powers at be on getting the company to pay the tuition for some PHP and Java classes so I can improve my web skills. ~sighs~ Maybe one day they’ll take me up on it. Until then its PHP For Dummies. *** Aidan is so fun to come home to right now. As soon as I walk in the door, he smiles and starts crawling toward me with a big smile on his face. He then grabs my legs and stands up and babbles until I pick him or start playing with him. How fun. Well it’s about time to head home and play with the boy. Go Tigers!
