The big 3-0
2005-01-27 5:26 p.m.

I turn thirty next Monday.

I’m handling it quite well. (So far).

When I turned twenty I had a “quarter life crisis” and spent a week freaking out that I wasn’t a teenager any more. For some reason I thought that turning twenty meant I had to be an adult – and I really had now idea what being an adult meant.

Fortunately there’s no “third life crisis” on the horizon. I’m happy where my life is going. I have a great job, a vivacious and loving wife, a wonderful and delightful son (for those who have requested, I’ll post another photo of him soon), and my writing projects are humming along smoothly.

Thirty years old.

Never thought the day would arrive.

And I never thought life would be this good when I turned the big 3-0.
