Countdown to Christmas, Houston, and the New Year
2004-12-22 4:03 p.m.

Three days before Christmas. Snow is floating to the ground like pieces of shredded paper. There is a hope, albeit a small one, that we may have a white Christmas this year.

Aidan is a little flirt. Last night Marathon Girl, Aidan, and I attended a dinner for the employees in the Marketing department. Every time the waitress would come by with platefuls of food or to refill drinks he would smile and wave at her. The waitress would then look and smile at him or say something cute. Aidan then burst out laughing. This went on all night and got to be quite amusing to everyone at the dinner.

It’s incredibly fun to watch Aidan’s personality develop. He's very relaxed and happy most of the time -- just like his daddy. It will be interesting to see what happens as he gets older.

And speaking of getting old, I’ve noticed I have more and more grey hairs. There’s not many of them but they seem to more prominent of late. All this is very depressing for someone who doesn’t turn 30 for another six weeks. I always hoped I’d get my dad’s genes when it came to aging. He’s 53 but looks 15 years younger. My mom on the other hand started sprouting grey hair in her late 20s. She’s aged nicely but she looks her age (57). Everyone on her side of the family greys early and it looks like I’ll be joining them.

At least I’m not going bald.

Houston.

Marathon Girl’s family isn’t going to be able to travel down there with us. Though it would be nice to be with them it does free us up a little more as to what the three of us are going to do. Aside from the day of the Marathon, we haven’t planned much (we’ll be there a total of five days). We’re thinking about day a trip to the coast to see the Gulf of Mexico. Perhaps we’ll spend anther checking out San Antonio. Who knows. I’ll be busy the weekend figuring out what options are available. Lately it seems that the two of us are so tired that it will be nice just to sleep in and have a few days where we won’t have anything to worry about.

Three days until Christmas.

Eight days to Houston.

Ten days to the New Year.

Merry Christmas everyone.

May this season of giving be happy and safe for all of you.
