The calm before the storm and a two year anniversary For the first time in weeks it was actually above freezing when I ran this morning. The only problem was that I was so used to freezing weather that I overdressed and had to shed clothes by the second mile. Lucky I ran when I did. About an hour after I arrived at work, the wind started blowing like crazy and the snow started falling. Marathon Girl had a 10 mile pace run scheduled for this afternoon. Fortunately her mom was at home and Marathon Girl was able to use her treadmill. Running on treadmills – especially for runs longer than 30 minutes – is fairly tedious. However, when you have a raging snow storm outside it makes it easier. *** It was two years ago today I got down on one knee and asked Marathon Girl to marry me. Much to my surprise, she said yes. OK it wasn’t a surprise. I was 99.5 percent sure she’d say yes. Two years later, I love her even more now than I did that day. The good and the bad we’ve experienced the last two years have brought us closer than I ever thought possible. She is my perfect compliment. I can’t imagine life without her. *** Marathon Girl just called. I guess there’s over six inches of snow at our place and she can’t get the car in the driveway due to snowy, slick conditions.
