It's dark out here, fast runnning and scary Aidan tales

The thought hit me this morning at 5:30 when I had difficulty seeing down one of the community’s jogging trails: It’s dark out here. Yes, there are street lights and porch lights but because the town is somewhat remote, it doesn’t get the “big city glow” that comes from the Salt Lake Valley. I’m not complaining. I could actually make out a couple of constellations this morning as I ran. The last time I could see the starts like this was when Marathon Girl and I first started running together. In fact the only thing missing was Marathon Girl. I would have liked nothing more than to have her running next to me this morning. Marathon Girl had a tremendous run Friday. She ran 14 miles in an astonishing 7:30 pace. If she keeps this up, there’s a chance she could have a new personal record for the Texas Marathon. (Her current personal best is 3:06.) *** We’re somewhat worried that Aidan is having a tough time adjusting to the new house. The last few nights he’s really had a hard time sleeping. He wakes up in the middle of the night and has hard time returning to sleep (very unusual behavior for him). We don’t know if it’s simply a series of bad nights or if it’s because he wakes up and finds himself in unfamiliar surroundings. Anyway, we’re hoping we can figure out what’s up with him because neither of us (but especially Marathon Girl) have received much sleep in the last 48 hours. Aside from that we’ve been transitioning smoothly into our new digs. I’m hoping to have my office/writing room set up in the next few days. It’s my favorite room in the house mostly because it’s on the second level and overlooks a park and the mountains. The view looks something like this:
*** Work continues to run at full speed. The major draft of the article I’m ghostwriting was finished on Friday. I received mostly positive feedback on it. After making a few minor changes and rewriting a few parts, it should be ready to go in the next day or two. (Lucky for me the deadline was extended to this Friday.) And it’s back to work for now….more to come soon.
