Movie guesses, marathons, and a strange dream

Thanks for all the interesting guesses as to what movie inspired the self portrait I posted yesterday. No one guessed correctly however. Guesses included:

• A Beautiful Mind
• A League of Their Own
• Star Wars
• The Matrix
• Spiderman
• Grand Canyon
• The Thomas Crown Affair
• Pete’s Dragon

All of them were good guesses though I must admit I’m wondering why someone guessed Pete’s Dragon. Though I haven’t seen it since I was a kid, I can’t recall a scene in the movie that would inspire that self portrait. Keep the guesses coming. Big kudos to the person who can guess the movie.

Went home during lunch today. Marathon Girl was quite proud of the fact she ran sub eight minute miles while pushing the running stroller.

I’m quite envious.

Granted I’m in decent shape but there’s no way I could push the running stroller four miles in under eight minute miles. On our longer Saturday runs, I have a hard enough time pushing the stroller two or three miles.

Gaaaa! And she hasn’t even been running for two months! I pity the people that have to run against her when she runs her next marathon.

And speaking of marathons, we’re looking for one she can run in the December/January timeframe. The front runners are one in Texas and one in Louisiana. If you know of one in your area during that time, please let me know so we can consider it.

I had a lot of strange dreams last night. In one I was at Eugene’s wedding on Saturday and the person officiating the ceremony asked if there was anyone who objected to the wedding. I stood up and said that Eugene should back out now before it was too late. Everyone in the audience acted like these were some great words of wisdom and they all started talking amongst themselves as to whether or not Eugene should back out. Then people for both the bride’s family and the groom’s family started standing up and debating one another as to whether or not the wedding should proceed. Then George W. Bush and John Kerry showed up and started debating whether or not the wedding should proceed. I looked over at Marathon Girl who was embarrassed beyond belief. She just looked at me and said, “Look what you started!” Then I woke up.

I’d go in more detail on my other dreams but then you’d all know I was crazy. Besides, it’s time to head home and play with Aidan. I’m outta here!
