Looking at homes, weddings, hats, and photos

Marathon Girl and I went and looked at some homes this weekend. Maybe it’s just be but I would think that when you were planning on selling a home you’d, you know, clean it up a little and make it as attractive as possible to potential buyers. One home was absolutely filthy. There were clothes everywhere. The lady asked us to pardon the mess and that they were getting ready to move. But looking at the condition of the carpets and everything else there was no doubt that this was the normal condition of the house. That and there were no boxes or any other sign that these people were moving. Yuck! How do people live like that? Another home we looked at yellow walls and blue carpet – colors which reminded me of the old Los Angeles Rams uniforms.
The color of the carpet and walls was surprising considering the house was well taken care of and the owners had obviously put a lot of work into it over the years. It goes to show that there’s not accounting for people’s taste (or lack thereof). BTW: Thanks to all those who signed the guestbook or sent e-mails about realtors and/or loan officers. Right now it looks like we have things under control…but more on that later. *** Eugene’s wedding is this Saturday. For some reason I keep expecting to hear that its been called off. (That’s probably because I really don’t care for his bride to be and not because they don’t like each other.) Six days. Should be an interesting wedding to say the least. More on that later…. *** Marathon Girl’s family came back from vacation Saturday. They had a great time and it sounded like they all enjoyed every part of it. They ended their vacation in St. Louis. As they were walking by Busch Stadium that morning, they bought me a cool St. Louis Cardinals baseball cap. Unfortunately, my two Detroit Tiger hats were quite jealous when they saw what I brought home. To keep the peace, I have to keep the hats on opposite ends of my closet. *** Many of you have asked to see another picture of Aidan. Here’s a picture I took of him last week:
*** Many of you have asked to see a picture of me. Here is a self portrait I took last month. (Bonus points awarded if you can name the movie that inspired the photo.)
