Vacation jealousies and MG stays on at the crime lab We had to wake up before five this morning to take Marathon Girl’s parents and her younger sisters to the airport. Aidan wasn’t too happy that we woke him at that ungodly hour to feed him and get him ready for the drive. “Ha!” I said as he yawned and tried to go back to sleep. “Now you know how we feel when you cry in the middle of night!” We got everyone to the airport in time and now they’ll be spending the next two weeks exploring the Midwest. Taking them to the airport made me jealous. I’d love to get away for a week and explore a new part of the world. And the Midwest would be fun to travel around. Alas, Aidan is too young for such a long trip. Until he gets bigger, I’ll have to see if Marathon Girl and I can squeeze a trip down to southern Utah once the weather turns cooler. *** Apparently Marathon Girl must be one hell of a CSI person. Ever since she gave her two weeks notice last Monday, the people in charge there have been trying very hard to get her to stay in some capacity. First the powers at be told her that she could work evenings so that I could be at home with the baby. Marathon Girl politely told them that the evenings was when she spent time with her husband. Then the Gods of the crime lab told her that she could work part time. Marathon Girl said that she really needed to stay at home and be with Aidan right now. Then the people in charge said that she could review case files from home part time and they’d increase her hourly pay. Marathon Girl decided to talk about it with me and see what I thought. I told her if she felt that she could do that along with her other commitments and responsibilities then I didn’t have a problem with it. So Marathon Girl decided to review CSI cases from home. It’s not as fun as it sounds. Marathon Girl says that reviewing cases is the most tedious work to do in the lab. Basically your checking the lab work of others and making sure they didn’t make a mistake. But at least it keeps her in CSI knowledge up to date. And all of her CSI manuals get to stay on our book shelf so I can read them. *** Many exciting things to write about but no time to write them now. Stay tuned for another update soon!
