Tired but doing well

We’re trying to decide who he looks most like: Marathon Girl or me. Overall he seems to have a good mix of both our features. He has my chin, lips, and ears. He has Marathon Girl’s hair, nose, and general facial shape. It will be interesting to watch as he grows and develops which features become more prominent. We’re doing well aside from the fact we aren’t getting as much sleep as we would like. But we expected there’d be a lot of midnight feedings with a newborn. All things considered, Aidan has done reasonably well sleeping 2-3 hours a time at night. (Marathon Girl’s catching up on her rest as I type this. Aidan is sleeping next to her.) It still seems so unreal that he is actually here with us and is ours to take home. Marathon Girl and I keep telling each other that it seems like we’ll have to return him soon. I’m sure the feeling will soon fade. But we’re glad he’s part of our family. I bought a digital camera before we went into the hospital and have been using it liberally. I love being able to see all the photos I’ve taken of him so far. I’m copying my favorites to CD so I can have some prints developed for us and family members. There’s a little concern he might be jaundiced. We had to take him in for some blood tests yesterday and this morning. He appears to be doing well, however. We’re waiting for the doctor to call us back and let us know if we’ll need to bring him in tomorrow. We just hope he’s healthy and we won’t have to leave him at the hospital. The doctor didn’t seem too worried when he examined him today. It’s been nice to have a few days off work. I head back tomorrow. Outside is sunny and warm. I haven’t had a run in almost a week. I think I’m going to head out and enjoy four miles worth of sunshine.
